“Pain is a relatively objective, physical phenomenon; suffering is our psychological resistance to what happens. Events may create physical pain, but they do not in themselves create suffering. Resistance creates suffering. Stress happens when your mind resists what is... The only problem in your life is your mind's resistance to life as it unfolds. ”

― Dan Millman

  • Listening, personalization & connection are the foundations of my therapeutic approach. Let me help you get more peace & comfort so you can conquer your days a little easier.

"Since chronic pain frequently cannot be seen or measured, unlike acute pain, doctors, colleagues, friends or family may question or doubt your pain. In effect, it doesn’t matter if anyone believes you, but it is extremely important for you to acknowledge that all pain is real."

—From Pain Recovery: How to Find Balance and Reduce Suffering from Chronic Pain

MY TREATMENT METHOD

  • FOCUS

It all starts by exploration & discovery. Pain contributes to stress. Emotional stress can cause physical pain. The pain you had yesterday miraculously disappeared, but now a new one showed up. Sometimes it’s more clearly defined than others. We’ll acknowledge what we know & take it from there.

  • ACTION

Next, I’ll utilize various massage techniques & treatments based on what we discovered & your preferences. I can provide direction on managing additional issues that aren’t in my scope of practice, including referrals to resources & providers as needed. Just want a massage to zone out or work out a trouble area? Then that’s what we’ll do.

  • REFINE

Then I’m done after the massage? If you want it to be. But, I recommend we learn how to continually refine what we’ve learned & adjust. Just like it takes mindfulness to maintain a weight loss, it takes ongoing practice to develop & maintain a balanced mind, body & spirit to authentically experience what we wish for despite the struggles.
